CLAUDE.md is the foundational file of any Knowledge OS installation. It tells Claude who you are, what you do, and how you work. A well-structured CLAUDE.md loads domain-specific rule files conditionally based on context, creating a modular instruction architecture that scales past 300+ files without conflicts. Think of it as the operating system kernel: it does not contain every instruction, but it knows where to find them.
